Artwork

In late 2021, I walked into Jerry's Artarama in Raleigh and said, "Show me everything I need to start oil painting." The sales associate somehow did not laugh in my face, and I and loaded up my cart with canvas pads, brushes, brush cleaner, Liquin, and the cheapest oil paint imaginable.

A YouTube tutorial walked me through painting an apple. A Udemy class showed me the grid method of creating the underdrawing, and the /learnart subreddit was where I learned to measure everything with a protractor or a ruler.

I was also able to pick the brains of Ryan Martin and Darren Taylor, two actual professional artists.

I'll be adding paintings in order from first to last, because I think it's fun to see the progression.
